21.03.06 Free Water Costs for Leak Snitches
Many UK water customers are unhappy with their water company at the moment, as discussed it this article below they seem to contnually be delivering bad news.
We are told to use less water because of the lack of rain over the winter, our water bills seem to be going up or we are foced to have a meter installed yet the service does not seem to reflect these rules and payments.
Whilst we are keeping our taps turned off, approximately 800million gallons of water leaks out of our badly maintained pipelines every day. Not surprisingly spurring anger amongst water customers nationwide.
In response to this unbelievable statistic, the Daily Mail have launched a campaign to find 'Britain's biggest drip'. They are encouraging readers to contact them if they spot a leak near them, and the worst reported leak will get their water bill paid for a year. Worth becoming a snitch for at a time we are faced with ever increasing bills?
To report a leak, simply write to Water Watch, Daily Mail, 2 Derry St, London W8 5TT or send an email to waterwatch@dailymail.co.uk. Please include your telephone number. If you can supply your own picture then so much the better. Closing date is Friday, 14 April. Normal Daily Mail rules apply. The Editor's decision is final.
